Suwanee, GA – Meggitt Training Systems, local manufacturer of FATS® and Caswell technologies, was present at the City of Suwanee’s ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the Suwanee Police Department’s new training facility. Designed to reduce the cost and time burden incurred in off-site training exercises, the range features Meggitt’s state-of-the-art wireless target systems, ballistic protection equipment and immersive simulation training systems.

“We don’t have to use force very often,” says Suwanee Police Chief Mike Jones, “but when we do, it can be a matter of life or death. So having this kind of training available to us on a daily basis is invaluable. This [equipment] will help move our training to the next level.”

The new training facility capitalizes on Meggitt’s 80+ years of live fire range experience as well as their incorporation of the industry’s newest technologies. The incorporation of wireless BlueFire® smart firearms simulators enhances training realism through realistic replication of the form, fit and function of duty firearms.

“We are proud to deliver a combined live fire and simulation training solution to our local law enforcement officials,” said David O’Meara, VP of Law Enforcement Sales at Meggitt Training Systems. “The goal of our products is to keep our law enforcement officers safe, and that message is especially relevant when supporting the forces that keep our local community safe.
