Range courses of fire and judgmental video simulation courseware
Courseware is the foundation of our FATS® L7 firearms training system and is provided in marksmanship lanes and judgmental video formats. Standard packages are provided with each system. For a user specific customized solution, Meggitt Training Systems' staff of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) work with our indoor range customers to develop solutions that fit their specific needs.
Marksmanship lanes/course of fire scenarios
Lanes courseware supports traditional indoor and outdoor range courses used for marksmanship training. Embedded lanes authoring capability enables customer SMEs to create unique firearms qualification courses and competition courses of fire through the selection of various range backgrounds and targets. Customers can also import image files of new targets and backgrounds to be used in courses.
Video courseware
Our vast library of video courseware (exceeding 200 scenarios) supports training where it is important for a shooter to analyze a situation and potential threat, and respond accordingly. Responses can range from verbal commands, less lethal engagement using optional chemical spray devices and Taser® simulators, and/or drawing firearms from a concealed carry or visible location. For each segment of the video scenario, the instructor is presented with a list of possible outcomes, or branching options, from which to choose to tailor the scenario outcome based on training objectives or adjusting to differing shooter responses. An integrated video authoring Station enables instructors to create new scenarios to support specific training objectives.
