fats L7 marksmanship and judgmental simulator The FATS® L7 compact training simulator effectively supports marksmanship and judgmental training needs of law enforcement, paramilitary and security personnel. The 1-screen configuration includes both marksmanship training and video training modes to provide a multi-tiered training program. Marksmanship training ranges from basic to advanced, and judgmental training enhances the understanding of shoot/don’t shoot situations and the corresponding decision making process.

Marksmanship and judgmental training 

The system is capable of supporting training of multiple trainees simultaneously, using up to eight (8) system controlled weapons, during judgmental video training, thus allowing them to engage in team training. During individual marksmanship training, the system emulates a range-type training environment where each trainee may shoot a different exercise, and in accordance with range safety/spacing guidelines, the system can support training of up to four (4) trainees simultaneously.

Integrated scenario authoring 

The flexibility, advanced features and authoring tools of the FATS® L7 allow training instructors to continuously adapt courseware to meet ever changing training needs. Embedded authoring tools are provided for instructor creation of new marksmanship training courses. FATS® L7 also includes a built-in video authoring station that supports customer creation of new video scenarios.

The standard FATS® L7 comes with the following capabilities:
  • Marksmanship training courseware
  • Judgmental training courseware
  • Integrated authoring for both marksmanship and judgmental courseware

**Upgrades such as Look-Back option, Flashlight option, and Hostile Fire System can be added on.

Weapons that can be used on the FATS L7 are Meggitt Training Systems' BlueFire® weapons, tethered weapons, and Dvorak's laser inserts. 
How many weapons can be used on the FATS® L7? - Monday, April 02, 2012
The FATS® supports up to eight system controlled simulated weapons (BlueFire® and tethered).  Marksmanship training supports up to 4 weapons total and Judgmental training supports up to eight. 
What is the shooting distance for my weapons? - Monday, April 02, 2012
The ideal distance from the screen to the firing line is 19 to 25 feet. 
Will my existing FATS® weapons from previous generations of simulators work on the FATS® L7? - Monday, April 02, 2012
Most weapons from previous generations of FATS simulators will work on the FATS® L7.  However some will have to have minor upgrades and adjustments to make them compatible with the L7.  Check with your regional account manager, or Meggitt Training Systems' Customer Support department for specific details.
