Indirect Fire Trainer (IFT)

Artillery and mortar simulator


indirect fire trainer The Indirect Fire Trainer (IFT) is used to train students in Forward Observer (FO), Forward Air Control (FAC), Fire Direction Center (FDC) and Mortar crew skills proficiency. An optional closed-loop training capability with appended mortars is also available. Adding a Flight simulator to the Indirect Fire Trainer supports pilot-in-the-loop JTAC training. After Action Review (AAR) is available to debrief students and critique their performance at the end of a training session.

  • Classroom, rack-mounted Indirect Fire Trainer (supports training multiple Forward Observer teams simultaneously)
  • As an add on module to existing military weapons trainers.

  • Appended Laser Rangefinder/Laser Target Designator simulator (rack systems only)
  • Binoculars (specify distance from screen and reticule)

Scenario Generation Toolkit

Instructors may create their own offensive and defensive scenario operations or develop basic forward observer range courses of varying degrees of difficulty using the included built-in scenario generation tool kit. The tool kit comes with over 300 targets representing:
